Theo Silverton told a worrying new lie inย Coronation Streetย which could point to trouble for Todd Grimshaw. As part of an ongoing dark storyline, the soap has been exploring coercive control and domestic violence within Theo and Toddโs relationship.
Theo has been exerting control over Todd and recently turned violent,ย attacking Toddย after accusing him of fancying their PT.
In todayโs episode, Theo convinced Todd to stay hidden in the flat while his injuries heal and Todd cancelled his plans with Summer.
Theo told Todd to lie low for a few days, saying he wouldnโt want people to see his injuries and jump to the wrong conclusion and Todd reluctantly complied.
When Summer bumped into Theo, she told him that Todd cancelled on her as he had gone to London and Theo played along. Alone in the flat, a restless Todd looked out of the window, but when someone looked up, he hid.

Summer found Theo in the pub where she told him she saw someone in the flat, suggesting it was a burglar. Theo said heโd check it out, but Gary and Ben insisted they would go with him as back up.
Theo burst into the flat, grabbed the laptop and thrust it at Todd. He ordered him to hide in the bedroom, saying: โWeโre going to have to pretend weโve been burgled.โ
After shouting that no one was there and that the only item missing was his laptop, Theo said that Todd must have left the door open on his way out.

โIโm gonna murder Todd. I bet heโs left the front door open again,โ Theo said. โSometimes he likes a drink in the middle of the afternoon, so letโs just say I bet he wasnโt in the right mind when he locked up for London.โ
An angry Theo then threw Todd a venomous look and told him off for almost giving the game away. When Theo headed back to the Rovers, a shaken Todd was seen sitting in the dark, too scared to put a light on.
Could Theoโs lie about Todd drinking a lot point to a future chapter in the story where he makes out Todd is the problem in the relationship?
