While viewers have long been aware that both Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) will be leaving EastEnders in the near future, and while fans have suspected they could leave hand in hand, nothing has been confirmed.

The two have previously been romantically linked after a messy start, which saw them sleep together, despite Freddie’s best friend, Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) harbouring his own feelings for Anna.

Vowing to keep their night together a secret and despite an incredibly messy lineage, with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) being the mother of both Anna and Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) who Bobby killed, they developed a relationship, even after he discovered that she’d previously slept with his best friend.

After Freddie took some time away from Walford, upon his return, it was clear that there were still feelings between he and Anna.

With Bobby departing Walford, things seemed as though they’d be straight forward for Anna and Freddie, until he slept with her sister, Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), which blew them apart for good.

Next week, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) decides to play cupid and reunite her cousin with his former beau at the Queen Vic’s quiz night, and although she’s later distracted by another incident with her tormentor, could she succeed in reigniting the flame between them?

With Anna mentioning in previous weeks that she’s saving money for a trip to Australia, viewers have been suspecting that perhaps Freddie could join her on her voyage.
