IS IT TRUE? Emmerdale’s April Windsor star Amelia Flanagan shares big personal news away from show
Amelia Flanagan’s Emmerdale character April Windsor has had a lot going on recently, but in real life, the actress has shared some major news of her own, away from the ITV soap.
Last week, April was at the centre of a special episode which took viewers on an emotional rollercoaster.
We were led to believe that April had opened up to Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) about her ordeal with Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), and that her confession led to Marlon being shot and killed by Ray.
Thankfully, it was revealed that Marlon was very much alive, and the whole scenario had been in April’s imagination.
Devastatingly, this put April off confiding in her dad for fear of the consequences, and she was left to continue to struggle alone.
However, there were further twists in store for the rest of the week, as it was revealed that Callum, the man April had ‘killed’ in self-defence when he attempted to rape her, wasn’t dead at all!
Away from the ITV soap, things seem much calmer for actress Amelia, who recently celebrated a major achievement.
Taking to Instagram, Amelia’s mum Rachel shared that the star had passed her driving test, posting a picture of Amelia smiling while holding up her certificate.
‘What a week!’ She wrote in the caption, tagging Amelia before continuing: ‘you’re smashing it in every bit of life and we’re so proud of you. Safe driving gorgeous girl.’
The comments of the post were soon filled with well-wishes from followers, including Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton star Cait Fitton, who wrote: ‘Proud beauty.’
‘Huge congratulations Amelia,’ another follower wrote, while a third said: ‘how amazing congratulations.’

Unfortunately, things aren’t looking quite as positive for April going forward, as new spoilers have revealed that the teen is set to be arrested after being caught with drugs.
When word reaches Celia and Ray, they are furious, and Celia warns that it will be the end of the line for April if the police investigation doesn’t go their way.
After getting April alone, Celia makes it clear that she has used up her last chance. Is April in grave danger?
While actress Amelia has been tackling this harrowing storyline, her younger siblings Isabella and Will have been working on their own, as stars of fellow ITV soap Coronation Street.
The twins have played Hope Stape and Joseph Brown since 2017.

Recently, Hope has been facing cyberbullying from sister Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor), who has been sending her nasty text messages.
Earlier this year, Isabella and William got to work together when their characters decided to prank the ambulance service by calling in a fake emergency.
This distraction meant that Mason Radcliffe got the help he needed after being stabbed too late, leading to his death in the hospital.
Poor Joseph was absolutely torn up about his role in the prank, and handed himself in to the police.
With the Corriedale crossover coming up in the new year, Amelia told me that she would love to have a scene with her siblings.
‘I think it would be incredible,’ she said at the British Soap Awards earlier this year, where she and William were both nominated for the same award.
‘It would mean Mum getting us to just one location instead of two as usual!
‘I think it’s something that would be amazing to explore. I’m so proud of them both. They’re here tonight.
‘I’m the eldest out of the three of us and it’s amazing to see them doing so well and loving what they do. We all love soaps and we all love being in it and being a tiny part of this massive machine that runs so smoothly. It’s incredible.’
