NEW UPDATE! Coronation Street – is Jodie manipulating Shona after shock arrival?

Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey is plotting against her half-sister Shona Platt in new scenes.

A new episode of the ITV soap has confirmed that Jodie isn’t being honest about her real motives.

Introduced during Corriedale, the character worked her way into Shona and David’s life after she’d revealed she was Shona’s half-sister.

Now living with the Platts, Jodie pressured an ill Shona to stay home and let David go to the hospital alone to visit baby Harper. Once the two women were on their own, Jodie took the opportunity to guilt-trip Shona.

Jodie showed her a tattoo she got to match hers, hinting at Shona not caring about her.

“What a loser I was, eh? To love a sister who couldn’t care less,” Jodie said as Shona protested.

“Of course I cared,” Shona said, adding that balancing being a teen mum with her family was hard.

She told Jodie she came back for her but they’d already moved away. Jodie replied she’d sent her sister a letter with the new address, but Shona never received it.

“It’s not like you tried very hard to find me anyway, is it?” Jodie added.

“It broke my heart, but I already had one kid to look after. What was I supposed to do, go searching up and down the country?”

“You were well rid and happy about it,” Jodie said coldly, piling on Shona to admit she hadn’t missed her.

Jodie then revealed their father was controlling and would lock her up in her room to prevent her from ruining her life “like [Shona] did”.

“I had no idea it was that bad for you,” Shona said, surprised at her father’s behaviour.

Tension escalated, with Jodie cutting herself with while washing. Shona rushed to help her and dressed the cut as she reiterated she didn’t know that Jodie had been struggling without her.

Later on, David returned home with great news from the hospital. Their daughter was doing better, but he had missed Shona today.

She opened up about being “really worried” about Jodie following their conversation.

“She got really angry and upset,” Shona told David who was mourned the loss of his favourite mug.

“She was emotional, and that’s on me,” she continued as David looked puzzled.

“Because I left her, all right? I abandoned her. I’m the reason her life is such a mess so I think I should be the one to try and fix it.”

Jodie was eavesdropping on the stairs, looking pleased that her plan was coming together.
