NEW UPDATE! Coronation Street confirms huge setback for Theo in Billy’s funeral week
Coronation Street’s residents say their final goodbyes to Billy Mayhew next week – as his secret killer Theo Silverton delivers a moving eulogy at his funeral. And poor Todd Grimshaw’s mourning is overshadowed by Theo’s abuse, as the villain publicly lays the blame for Billy’s death at his door.
However, after Theo makes a risky admission that is overheard by a mysterious eavesdropper, could his downfall be closer than he thinks?
As preparations get under way for Billy’s send-off, with the whole Street helping out in some way, rueful Theo struggles with the weight of what he’s done.
Taking solace in religion, Theo speaks to Bishop Greg who reassures him that he’s not to blame, but suggests that he should talk to God about his feelings.

When George leaves Theo alone to look after the undertakers while he pops out, Theo seizes his chance to repent and approaches Billy’s coffin to apologise for not helping him escape the minibus and instead leaving him to die.
Just as Theo finishes his sick confession, though, he hears a door slam in the shop.
“So far, Theo has totally got away with his crime, and no one suspects any foul play in Billy’s tragic death,” our Corrie source reminds us. “However, Theo’s desire to confess could prove to be his downfall if the mystery person did overhear and chooses to use it against him.
“One way or another, it seems as though Theo will get his comeuppance…”

But who was the secret eavesdropper? And how much of Theo’s admission did they overhear?
The next day, Billy’s loved ones and parishioners gather to say goodbye to the dearly departed vicar – but Theo is tortured, plagued by the alarming idea that someone has heard him confess everything to the body of the man he doomed to death.
As the funeral gets under way, Todd prepares to deliver the eulogy for his close friend. However, as he steps up to the lectern and looks out at the sea of familiar faces who have been devastated by Billy’s death, the heavy weight of his grief takes over. He soon crumbles, too emotional to give his speech.
In an attempt to seem like the hero, Theo steps up to give the eulogy – but uses his words to pass more guilt onto Todd!

“Theo is a real viper in the nest at Billy’s funeral, and although it seems to the congregation that he’s helping, he’s sneakily making digs at Todd to increase his guilt,” our spy warns.
“Back at the wake, Todd’s furious at Theo’s cruel attempt to subtly blame him for Billy’s death in front of everyone – but whether he’ll stand up to Theo in the packed Rovers remains to be seen…”
