Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is a law unto herself in Coronation Street, and we wouldn’t have her any other way.

She’s previously got away with murder, committed arson and caused crashes by sabotaging vehicles. She’s faked pregnancies, lied about the paternity of her actual baby and had affairs, but she is strangely helpful in a minibus crash, as she’s been able to demonstrate on two separate occasions.

When she’s not playing the hero amid vehicular disaster, Tracy loves nothing more than winding up her neighbours – and we love nothing more than to watch her do it.

Her most recent target was Carla Connor (Alison King), who has had a pretty rough few months, to put it lightly.

Carla and Tracy have a complicated history. That arson I mentioned? Tracy framed Carla for it and let her believe she was responsible for the death of two people. But on the flip side, she did save Carla from near death in one of those minibus crashes by crawling into the wreckage and pulling her out before the vehicle plunged off a cliff.

Told you it was complicated.

This week, Carla has been down in the dumps following the disintegration of her relationship with Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). Things fell apart for the beloved couple when Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) returned from the dead, and did everything possible to split them up and get her wife back.

Fortunately, Becky is now out of the picture and safely behind bars, but Carla and Lisa are still feeling the effects of her actions.

In recent scenes, it seemed as though Carla was prepared to finally talk things through with her ex-fiancée – until Tracy came along and ruined it all.

Tracy isn’t exactly subtle in her approach to situations, and her reaction to spotting Carla at the door of No.6 was no exception.

She was horrified by the prospect of Carla and Lisa rekindling their relationship after everything that has happened between them, insisting that Carla had been turned into ‘a doormat’.

Though Carla threatened Tracy to mind her own business, it was clear her sentiments had struck a nerve, and Carla thought better of making amends with Lisa.

However, fans of the ITV soap have spotted the ‘real’, hilarious reasoning behind Tracy’s interference in Carla’s love life, and it isn’t just because she loves to meddle.

In tonight’s episode, Lisa bought a giant bouquet of flowers to give to Carla, after inviting her to lunch at the Bistro, determined to fix things between them.

And who owns the only florist on Coronation Street? Why, Tracy Barlow, of course!

Taking to Twitter/X, one Corrie fan joked that Tracy’s meddling was actually part of a much wider plot to drum up business.
