THE former girlfriend of a Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star has spoken out for the first time since they split.
Blonde bombshell Roisin Riley has slammed claims she was a rebound in an emotional statement just days after we revealed her shock breakup with Liam Scholes, 22.
Roisin has now broken her silence, speaking exclusively to The Sun she confirmed they have parted ways and despite sources insinuating she was a rebound the model has firmly shut that down.
She said: “While breakups are never easy, I want to clarify that there is no animosity between us. We’ve chosen to move forward with mutual respect and remain on good terms.
“I’m not someone who is usually in the spotlight, but I did wake up to articles regarding our breakup, which brought unexpected attention but also a need to speak out.”
Roisin added: “I am no rebound. I am of course very, very upset and I will always have so much respect for Liam Scholes.”
ITV‘s Liam and model Roisin first made their public debut as a couple on the red carpet of the 101 Dalmatians Music at The Palace Theatre in Manchester.
The pair looked loved-up as they hard launched their relationship 16 months ago.
They began dating just months after his split from his former Corrie co-star Elle Mulvaney.
And while eyebrows were initially raised at how quickly he started dating Roisin following the end of his long-term relationship, the pair lasted over a year.
A source previously told The Sun: “Liam and Roisin tried to make things work, but they are both young and grew apart.
“They got together very quickly after he broke up with Elle, and in the end, I think it was too soon.”
Liam skyrocketed to fame playing thug Eli Higginson on the cobbles.
His character enthralled fans as he was caught up in a controversial storyline where his character, helped evil Corey Brent to cover up the murder of Seb Franklin who died after a vicious street attack.
The actor, who plays Noel McManus on Waterloo Road, previously dated Elle for a number of years before their split left their co-stars and family baffled.
A source told us they were “love’s young dream” and did everything together but they made it clear to pals it would take a miracle for them to get back together.
Liam and Roisin are keeping it friendly as they still follow each other on Instagram – the politics student gushed over the impact Liam has had on her life.
Roisin said: “It has been a pleasure to watch Liam grow as an actor in Waterloo Road as well as on stage! I feel inspired, grounded, and optimistic about what’s ahead, and I appreciate the understanding and support as I move forward.”
The model told us how she is excited to move onto her next chapter as an aspiring actress.
Liam last posted a snap of Roisin to his Instagram in September 2025 as the pair enjoyed a lavish date night.
The stunning blonde could be seen donning a lacy gold and yellow dress as she sipped from a wine glass.
