NEW UPDATE! Emmerdale’s Paddy to uncover major new Ray update – here’s what it means for Bear
Emmerdale’s Paddy Dingle is given reason to celebrate next week – as his killer cover-up seems to be working out perfectly. With Bear Wolf still hidden away until further notice, the police find themselves on the wrong track over the murder of Ray Walters.
Viewers saw Paddy come up with a cunning plan this week, after flashback scenes showed the shocking moment that he witnessed Bear brutally killing Ray. Determined to protect his father from the consequences, Paddy made a pact with teen Dylan Penders to get Bear back out of the village and conceal the truth.
A new spoiler clip from Monday’s episode (26 January) shows DS Walsh paying another visit to the village as her investigation continues.
This forces Paddy to stick to his guns, as he pretends that he still doesn’t know what has happened to his beloved dad.

Paddy boldly approaches Walsh and asks whether there’s any update on the Ray case.
Walsh admits that there’s no breakthrough, but confirms that a big task force is on the job and everyone is very keen to speak to Ray’s mum Celia Daniels.
Of course, we know what Walsh doesn’t – Celia is dead too. The police are clearly on the wrong track for now, so Paddy can breathe a sigh of relief.
Once Paddy’s left alone again, he calls Dylan to let him know what’s going on.
“I’ve just bumped into the police and they’re properly going after Celia for it,” Paddy explains.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale’s producer Laura Shaw has been speaking about what’s next for the show now that the Ray mystery is over.
The ITV soap released a new trailer last night, offering first look footage of what’s to come.
Speaking alongside the big trailer, Shaw commented: “Corriedale kicked off 2026 with a bang for Emmerdale! The unforgettable 5 January episode kept viewers gripped with major developments like Graham’s surprise return, Ray’s unexpected death, and Cain’s shocking diagnosis.
“But the excitement is far from over. We have an abundance of explosive, top-tier television planned for the coming weeks, promising to follow up on these thrilling Corriedale events.”
