Coronation Street’s latest spoiler clips are in – and they could show the beginning of the end for the evil Theo Silverton. As Theo makes an emotional apology for leaving Billy Mayhew to die, he’s unaware that somebody can hear him.

The ITV soap has warned of tougher times ahead for Theo, as some people on the cobbles start to realise what he may be capable of. And it all starts next week, as Theo is asked to hold the fort at the undertakers for a while.

1. Tuesday 27 January

When George Shuttleworth asks Theo to step in at the undertakers for a few minutes, the scheming scaffolder is overwhelmed by his own guilt. Drawn to Billy’s coffin, Theo takes the opportunity to apologise.

In a highly incriminating monologue, Theo says sorry for leaving Billy to die in the Corriedale crash. He describes it as a moment of madness and claims that his biggest fault is loving Todd too much.

Suddenly, Theo overhears the main entrance door slam. He rushes out and finds the undertakers already empty – but who potentially heard his confession?

“So far, Theo has totally got away with his crime, and no one suspects any foul play in Billy’s tragic death,” our Corrie source says. “However, Theo’s desire to confess could prove to be his downfall if the mystery person did overhear and chooses to use it against him.

“One way or another, it seems as though Theo will get his comeuppance…”

2. Wednesday 28 January

At Billy’s funeral, Todd bravely gives a eulogy but crumbles under the pressure.

After encouragement from George, the shifty Theo gets up to take over. Tormented by the thought of taking centre stage at his own victim’s funeral, Theo warmly hugs Todd and prepares to address everyone.

3. Thursday 29 January

Bernie Winter-Alahan is also struggling with her grief and seeks an escape by heading to the Chariot Square Hotel to drink alone.

Newcomer Mal joins her at the bar, introduces himself and offers to buy her a drink. Mal is clearly attracted to Bernie, but will she be tempted?

“Mal tells Bernie that his wife cheated on him, leading her to open up about Paul and Billy,” our insider explains. “Ryan Connor then asks the drunk pair to leave, but not before Mal asks Bernie to join him upstairs…”
