Theo’s next victim ‘confirmed’ as he vows to kill major Coronation Street character in early ITVX release

This article contains spoilers for the episode of Coronation Street that airs on Wednesday, January 28. It has not yet aired on ITV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.

Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) looks set to kill again in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as his feud with Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) reaches new heights.

We were left on a major cliffhanger with last night’s episode, as it was revealed that Carl had overheard Theo’s apology to Billy Mayhew.

For those who aren’t in the loop, Billy was killed in a multi-vehicle pile-up at the beginning of the year after driving a minibus full of wedding guests into the scene of the accident.

When the minibus caught fire, Billy was trapped inside. Theo went back into the burning vehicle and reached Billy’s side just as he finally managed to get his seatbelt unbuckled. Tragically, Theo immediately plugged it back in and left Billy in the minibus, which exploded moments later.

Left alone in the funeral parlour with Billy’s coffin last night, Theo apologised for what he’d done, expressing his guilt – unaware that Carl was listening in.

In tonight’s episode, the Coronation Street locals gave Billy a deserving send-off, and Theo was among the crowd of mourners, supporting boyfriend Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

However, Carl was also there, and hinted that he was the one who had listened to Theo bearing his soul.

It seemed as though their feud was tipped entirely in Carl’s favour – until he made the same mistake later in the episode.

After committing yet another crime, Carl was caught red-handed by Theo. We won’t spoil exactly what Carl did, but it involved a clandestine meeting with two co-conspirators.

You’d think that after Theo’s mistake Carl would know to be more careful, but alas, no such luck.

When Theo spotted Carl handing the lads drugs – seriously, is there a crime this man hasn’t been involved with? – he snapped a picture and later pulled it out during another confrontation.

Theo threatened to share the picture if Carl didn’t stay away from him, but Carl pointed out that he had his own blackmail material and threatened to reveal the truth about Billy’s death if Theo went near Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) again.

Always wanting to have the last word, Theo delivered the ultimate threat, warning Carl that if he told Todd the truth then he would end up in a coffin just like Billy!

Should Carl take Theo’s threat seriously, or has Theo messed with the wrong man?
