Stephanie and Alex can’t focus until Steve and Jada let them know what the plan is. They must catch and stop Jeremy before he leaves town! (Real impartiality here, Jada.) They go over all the circumstantial evidence that he’s guilty and deserves to be in jail, but Jada assigned JJ to keep an eye on him.
Will Jada and Steve’s Plan Work?
In any case, Jada and Steve lay out their plan to create a webpage for their wedding with the news that they’ve decided to elope. It’ll give a hard deadline, they’ll send Alex to the courthouse with a decoy Stephanie and they’ll nab Jeremy when he strikes. Except the stalker is listening to the whole thing from the bugged picture frame.
Alex is in, but Jada’s kicking herself for not seeing through Jeremy’s act. She’s a cop. And they’re jumping to a lot of conclusions. Then Steve has an OMG moment again when he sees a new Sandsfan69 post saying he already tried killing Alex. Then we’re reminded of when he was almost “gutted like a fish” at Halloween before the pumpkin smacked Alex in the head.

Which brings us back to Jeremy. They’re going to review the Horton Town Square CCTV footage from Halloween. But wait, there’s more! His drink was also poisoned months ago. “Which means my psychotic ex boyfriend has been trying to kill Allex for months!” (Has he, though?) That makes Stephanie even more worried about Alex’s safety.
What Is Kate’s Plan for Johnny?
Marlena, Kayla and Roman are sharing some breakfast at the Pub when Johnny enters with news of Stefano’s demise. To their credit, they don’t laugh in his face. Then Kate hears them and Roman orders mimosas on the house. Well, we guess metaphorical laughing is better than literally doing it…
They rehash the “Stevano” days, then Kate hurries to turn away when Johnny mentions Susan’s relatively recent hunch that Stefano was still alive. When Kate admits that’s embarrassed for feeling sad, Roman’s understanding. “Stefano was a cruel and dangerous man, except for the moments when he wasn’t,” Kate says. Well, that’s… not great.

Marlena and Kayla assure Johnny that it’s OK to feel sad, and reflect that without Stefano, they never would have gotten John. In the end, “Love wins.” On that note, Johnny decides to share the news that Chanel’s pregnant — but keep it mum from anyone else until they’re further along. Besides Roman and Kate, who he tells next.
But that’s just the opening for Johnny to talk to Kate about Bonnie’s novel. Kate plays dumb as Johnny says he’d like to publish it at DiMera. That’s fine with her! She just wants the best for him. Uh huh.
Kayla and Marlena, meanwhile, talk over the possibility of Jeremy stalking Stephanie, then Belle’s idea that Marlena oversee things at Basic Black. She doesn’t know anything about being a CEO but… Kate does! She could helm and Marlena could consult. (So family members just get to make all the decisions even if they don’t actually work at a company?)

Did Liam Really Kidnap Theo?
Rafe has asked Abe over to share the Stefano news (which he takes in stride) and ask him what he knows about Liam. It looks like Liam was the one nabbing all the DiMeras, Rafe tells him. Abe swears the kid turned his life around, but he was desperate for money. He seems like a good guy who loves his son, but if he was involved in Theo’s kidnapping… He’s dead to Abe.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Jada assures Stephanie that they’ll do everything they can to protect Alex. It’ll be alright, but it’s their only option. They get started, even though Stephanie’s holding back tears. The only one who is to blame, Alex says, is Jeremy Horton. (So clearly, he’s not behind this.) As they declare their love for each other, stalker listens and pounds his gloved hand on the his table.
Johnny says he and Chad want to do a memorial for Stefano, if anyone wants to attend. Kate’s in, and Roman will happily dance on Stefano’s grave. (Which he has the courtesy to say after Johnny leaves.)
