EastEnders star Shane Richie teases more Moon family returns after Jake reunion

EastEnders brought back Jake Moon for a handful of episodes this week, as Kat got him to track down his old flame Chrissie Watts to find out if she murdered Anthony Trueman (which Zoe has taken the fall for, and viewers know that her daughter Jasmine did it).

While it was only a brief return, it looks like it’s going to be the precursor to seeing more Moon family members on our screens in the near future.

“I know they’re really looking at the Moon family tree and bringing back some of the Moons”, Alfie actor Shane Richie told The Sun.

This week saw Alfie head off to Australia to check up on his brother Spencer, who hasn’t been on Albert Square since 2005.

While the trip was a convenient plot device to allow Richie to take a break from filming to go do pantomime, it now looks like it might be a bit more than that.

“Alfie just left now to see Spencer in Australia, so who knows what happens after that and who will come back”, Richie added, implying that he probably knows.

Played by Christopher Parker, Spencer turned up in Walford with older brother Alfie in November 2002, and departed in January 2005.

His main relationship during his time in Albert Square was with Vicki Fowler, who made her return last year and has been involved in some of the soap’s biggest storylines.

Vicki claimed at first that Spencer had cheated on her, which led to their break-up. However, it was soon discovered that she actually cheated on him with her current partner Ross Marshall.

With Vicki now caught in a love triangle with Ross and Zack Hudson, adding Spencer back into the mix has potential for a serious amount of drama.

But is Spencer actually one of the Moons they’re bringing back?
