Coronation Street’s newest schemer Jodie Ramsey is about to confirm what we’d all suspected – she’s only on the cobbles to cause big trouble for her sister, Shona Platt. Jodie lets her true agenda slip in a conversation with Carl Webster tonight, but will he keep her secret?

Jodie is currently manipulating Shona into believing that she wants to rebuild their bond and become a proper part of the Platt family. However, recent tabloid reports have suggested that this story will ultimately take a dark new direction, as Jodie plots to take over Shona’s entire life.

In today’s scenes, Jodie welcomes Carl into the Platt house for a raunchy rendezvous amid their secret fling. Shona’s husband, David, walks in, and while he’s amused to catch them in a state of undress, he also disapproves of Jodie’s choices.

When David privately warns Jodie that she deserves someone better than Carl, she is secretly pleased that he feels so strongly about it…

Meanwhile, when Jodie and Carl get some more time alone, they realise they have plenty in common amid the chaos they’re causing for their respective families.

“You know, it struck me, you and me, we’re pretty similar,” Jodie notes. “[We’ve] both been let down by our families, brought up to rely on ourselves and no-one else. Trusting people never got me anywhere.”

When Carl asks why Jodie is staying with the Platts if she feels this way, she replies: “Getting what’s owed, hopefully.”

Earlier this week, Jodie was named as one of five characters who could be killed off on the day of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding on 23 April. A recent flashforward to the big day showed Lisa’s daughter, Betsy, being interviewed at the police station after finding a body.

Jodie’s inclusion on the victims list came as a surprise, as she has only been on our screens for a short time. But perhaps she was always brought in for a brief stint, as we saw with characters like Mick Michaelis last year?

An official statement from Corrie recently teased: “Despite initial reservations, the Platts have welcomed Shona’s estranged sister Jodie Ramsey into their home. But Jodie has been keeping secrets from them, and it seems she has got mixed up with some pretty shady characters in her past.

“Will trouble follow Jodie to Weatherfield, or could she upset people closer to home with her behaviour?”
