Young & Restless Shocker: Nick’s Addiction Is Setting the Scene for a Deadly Encounter
Young & Restless sealed the deal with Nick’s pain med addiction in Friday’s episode, and what may be coming as a result is nothing short of deadly.
Nick was in agonizing pain, and out of prescriptions pain pills, when he left Noah and Sharon at Crimson Lights, only to return a short time later in a much different state. Viewers, of course, saw him in the back alley contemplating the baggie of fentanyl pills he found in his pocket. Finally desperate enough to perhaps take one, knowing he’d gone through his legitimate meds too quickly.

Fentanyl, as it turns out, is in a whole other league from the pain pills the doctor would have prescribed. Nick, in a word, was flying, and his addiction will be significantly more intense given that those little candy-like pills are so much more potent. Given that there weren’t that many in the baggie, we’re looking at big trouble when he runs out.

How does this translate to a deadly encounter? Well, in a nutshell, all roads lead to Matt Clark. We know from the weekly preview that the villain of the month is set to be released from jail, and spoilers tell us that Sharon and Nick will set a trap for Clark, which will surely lead to a confrontation.

Given that the authorities have proven useless when it comes to keeping the baddie under lock and key, Nick’s caveman brain will definitely jump to “getting rid” of Clark despite warnings from family and friends that he wouldn’t be able to live with himself. We’re on the fence on that one, ’cause he seems to be doing OK after helping Ashland shuffle off this mortal coil, but, hey, that was an “accident” right?
