OMG! #YR’s Courtney Hope has a new leading man… and we can bet you’ll recognize this *very* familiar face.
The Young and the Restless viewers watch her as Sally each weekday in Genoa City but her portrayer has something very exciting in the works and we just had to pass along the news to you. Courtney Hope has joined the cast of The Christ, a four-part series that will be featured on the Faith Podcast Network — and the best part is, she’ll be working alongside another soapy face.
Longtime CBS daytime fans will recognize Tom Pelphrey from his roles as Jonathan on Guiding Light and Mick on As the World Turns and as first reported by our sister site, The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will voice the role of Jesus with Hope as his mother Mary in the podcast that will be released ahead of Good Friday and Easter. The “audio epic” and “first ever full-scale audio dramatization of Jesus’ life across four immersive episodes using cinematic-quality sound, music and performances,” will debut on Monday, March 30 with a new episode premiere each day through Thursday, April 2.

Hosted by Patricia Heaton, with John Rhys-Davies narrating, The Christ will take listeners on a journey through “the life, death and legacy of Jesus of Nazareth. Through betrayal, courage, suffering and hope, the series explores how one man’s story reshaped history — and redefined love, authority and sacrifice.”
