Coronation Street’s Kit Green puts his career on the line next week, when he has a tense showdown with battered and bruised Mal Roper. Does the creepy electrician recognise his attacker?

Kit has kept quiet since shoving his mum’s tormentor. But as the walls close in on the cop, Mal wakes from his coma – and he wants to talk…

“Kit tries to remain in control as he comes face to face with his victim,” our Corrie source reveals. “He knows he has to question Mal without giving away he was behind the attack. But as Mal stares him down, is he ready to ruin Kit’s life?”

Since getting his revenge on slimy Mal, Kit has managed to evade suspicion – until now. Worried about mum Bernie’s safety, Kit tried to warn Mal off. But when Mal suffered a heart attack afterwards, Kit’s situation spiralled out of control as Mal ended up in a coma.

When Lisa Swain reveals a key witness has come forward over Mal’s attack, Kit’s anxiety kicks in. He manages to hide his unease and give nothing away, but as Lisa quizzes him, it looks like his days are numbered…

When the witness arrives outside the station, landlord Barry recognises Kit immediately. Kit manages to play it as cool as a cucumber, but then Barry instantly identifies him as the man who attacked Mal.

“This witness could destroy Kit’s life,” our insider continues. “Not only could he lose his job, this attack and cover-up would mean a serious prison sentence. Kit needs to find a way to stop the witness talking – and fast.”

The next day, Lisa breaks the news Kit’s been dreading – Mal is awake. Kit reluctantly visits Mal in hospital to question what he remembers about the attack. Knowing Mal is an unpredictable and volatile man, he’s nervous as he sits at Mal’s bedside. The tension builds as Kit asks him to think back to that fateful night…

Does Mal remember it was Kit who attacked him? And could twisted Mal use this knowledge to his advantage in his desperate attempt to entrap Bernie?
