Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt to make alarming confessions in return story
Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt will find herself in trouble next week, when she makes a surprise return to Weatherfield. The journalist left the cobbles back in February, following a messy break-up with Daniel Osbourne.
Heartbroken Bethany decided to prioritise her own needs by accepting a job offer at a magazine in London. Meanwhile, in real life, actor Lucy Fallon exited the soap to begin her maternity leave.
Next Friday’s (3 October) episode will see Bethany return to our screens under surprising circumstances, as she ends up at the police station with her mum’s new boyfriend DC Kit Green.
While being interviewed by Kit, Bethany reveals that she quit her job in London and borrowed her boss’s car without permission.

After driving the car up to Manchester, Bethany is now being accused of car theft. But will Kit be able to help her out of this bind?
Later, when Bethany is reunited with Sarah, she confesses that she quit her job before she was pushed out. Sarah is pleased to have her daughter back for good, but how will Daniel react to the news?

Fallon and her partner Ryan Ledson welcomed a baby girl in January, before the star returned to filming in July.
Speaking previously at the National Television Awards, she told Digital Spy: “It’s good to be back with everybody – not hiding a baby bump anymore! It’s nice to just be free! It’s exciting, I’m looking forward to everyone seeing it.”
The actor also addressed Bethany’s upcoming storyline, claiming “not much has changed for her really”.
She added: “Apart from – she’s knocked the journalism on the head, and she’s coming back with a fresh new job actually, working somewhere on the street. Could be anywhere!”
