A Coronation Street favourite has left viewers worried they might be departing after posting a telling hint online.

The ITV drama has seen significant cast changes recently – with 2025 witnessing numerous departures already. Max Turner (Paddy Bever) received a six-year prison sentence, whilst Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) met a shocking end after 14 years on the cobbles.

Additionally, long-running character Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) departed Weatherfield after a quarter of a century, relocating thousands of miles to Thailand.

Yet further shake-ups lie ahead, as May brought confirmation that Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank – a cast member since 2014 – had received his marching orders.

Now supporters worry another performer might be heading for the exit after spotting a mysterious hint. Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce recently shared images of his updated professional headshots across social platforms, reports the Daily Star.

His admirers were swift to read this as evidence the performer is seeking fresh opportunities. Performers commonly refresh their publicity shots when hunting for different roles.

Fans rapidly concluded Gareth might be gearing up to bid farewell to the famous street. One anxious supporter posted: “I hope this doesn’t mean you are leaving Corrie.”

Another commented: “Literally just came to ask this… Hope not! !” A third pleaded: “Please don’t be leaving!”.

Gareth initially arrived on the programme in 2020 as Todd, replacing Bruno Langley who portrayed the role from 2001 to 2017. At present, he is embroiled in a distressing new plot involving Todd’s new partner Theo (James Cartwright).

The duo began a relationship earlier this year, but the situation has recently taken a dramatic turn. Clearly grappling with personal issues, Theo has begun to abuse Todd.

Discussing the new abuse storyline, Gareth, who plays Todd, recently admitted his concern for his character. He stated: “Because Todd’s constantly calibrating what is normal and what is acceptable in the relationship.

“So very slowly things that are already crossing the line, that are already massive red flags are becoming slowly acceptable. That’s only going to get worse now at the point where it’s become physical and Todd is still able to convince himself that this is somehow fixable rather than a situation that he needs to walk away from.”
