Exclusive: Days of Our Lives Stars Send a Message to ‘Xander’ Fans as the Couple Implodes

Guilt may not have worked to expose the truth, but thanks to Maggie, Days of Our Lives Xander has finally come clean about beating Philip.

And more importantly, he came clean to Sarah — just as the two were moving forward, getting therapy and promising that there were no

more lies and no more secrets! In other words, this is bad. This is very bad.

Days of Our Lives

“I have nothing left, Xander,” Sarah told her husband on Friday. She took off her rings, threw Xander out and banned him from ever stepping foot in the house again. When we spoke with Linsey Godfrey and Paul Telfer back when the couple first split, they made it clear that this time around, Xander and Sarah wouldn’t just patch things up and go about with business as usual. This time was different. This time may even be for keeps.

Days of Our Lives Friday Recap: Is This Really the End of Xander/Sarah?

We say “may,” of course, because there’s no telling what the future holds, but at the very least, Xander’s guilty admission seems bound to end in divorce.

As Telfer noted, as this has gone on, the couple’s portrayers have felt, “the show, the writers, and each other realizing that we don’t actually have to be married to have scenes together. And we don’t need to be in a romantic relationship to have amazing scenes together, actually.”“So long as Linsey and I are working together and we’ve got material to play with,” he continued, “the nature of the material — or at least it being within the confines of a happy relationship — doesn’t matter so much as long as you’re just getting stuff to play.”

As Godfrey added, “Xarah’s” relationship has been anything but smooth. They’ve hit bump after bump, and broken up and gotten back together again countless times. And that even applies to this most recent split! “So you just kind of have to be in it for the ride,” Sarah’s portrayer suggests. “Enjoy the journey to… the destination is gonna be whatever it is!”

That’s how she and Telfer have been making it through this split — because both admitted to feeling dismayed at first when they realized Sarah and Xander were NOT finally getting their happy ending. “That’s what we’ve had to keep doing is be like, ‘OK, it’s very interesting to work with these people or have this storyline or whatever. I think speaking to ‘Xarah’ fans, if you love me and Paul and you love us together, then try to love us as independent actors.”

And keep watching, “knowing that Sarah and Xander can never be too far apart. They share a child, they share history. There’s so much intertwining with them, none the least of which is that people in charge over here also like their run together.”

In other words, once again, yes, they may be over for good — but never say never, especially when it comes to love in the afternoon!
