Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has paid a public tribute to his ‘beautiful’ wife as she celebrated a special occasion.

The actor, who is famed for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, has been married to Emma Gleave, who once starred in Hollyoaks, since 2010.

The couple share three sons – Alfie, Henry and Teddy – and live together in Cheshire. Emma previously opened up about life with the Corrie star during his time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2021.

She told Sunday Mirror at the time: “Nobody knows but Simon is a poet. He’s always writing, he keeps books at the end of the bed so when he can’t sleep, he’ll have a dream or he’ll have a thought and will write it down.

“His poetry is brilliant, he’s a really good poet. He’s also writing a children’s book. He started during lockdown and was also doing it while he was isolating before he went on I’m A Celebrity.”

But this time, it was Simon’s turn to share his own thoughts about his wife as she celebrated her birthday. Taking to Instagram this week, the soap star shared a selfie of the pair beaming for the camera.

Across the image, Simon’s message to Emma read: “Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl ever, period, full stop, no come backs,” before adding a red love heart emoji.

Simon’s Corrie co-star, Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster in the long-running show, was quick to respond as she said: “She’s a beauty no doubt about it.”
