Coronation Street’s Debbie Webster prepares to tie the knot with Ronnie Bailey early next year, in one of the most spectacular weddings Corrie has ever seen. While it’s all smiles for the super glam bride and groom in the lead-up to the seasonal ceremony, scandalous secrets are about to explode for Debbie’s brother Carl, that could ruin his sibling’s special day.

Cruel Carl is sneakily stealing from Debbie, but pretending he’s helping his vulnerable sibling with her finances as she struggles with her dementia. He wants to stash enough cash to pay off his debts and flee Weatherfield, which both girlfriend Abi Webster and secret lover James Bailey know nothing about.

“After the year she’s had, everyone is willing Debbie to marry her Prince Charming and find some well-earned happiness,” our Corrie insider explains.

“Unfortunately, her little brother is about to pull focus from her fabulous frock as his bad behaviour catches up with him – and the fallout will be epic.”

As Debbie and the girls have a pre-wedding pamper in the New Year, the future Mrs Bailey laments how she wishes her brothers Kev and Carl could bury the hatchet. The two men have been at odds for months, in the wake of Carl’s scandalous affair with Abi.

Debbie is a bag of nerves as the wedding day arrives on 2 January, so Bernie Winter does her best to keep her calm.

After the blushing bride makes a unique entrance to the venue, she promptly picks up on the tension between Carl and Kevin and demands her siblings cease their squabbling.

The family feud is briefly forgotten as Debs and the dementia choir take centre stage to perform a beautiful number to kick off the proceedings.

But it’s not long before events escalate that threaten to spoil Debbie’s fairytale, as Carl’s world starts crashing down…

“Abi is finally suspicious over Carl’s behaviour and tells Kevin that she thinks he plans on doing a runner,” our source adds. “She found a secret bag of cash in his car boot which has since gone missing.
