Coronation Street’s Mick Michaelis escape storyline has topped the show’s YouTube rankings – after two months of episodes premiering on the streaming platform.
Since the end of June, Corrie has been premiering new episodes on YouTube at 7am each day – providing another option for online viewing alongside ITVX.
Fans can see the stats for each individual episode on the show’s YouTube page, providing a rare insight into which characters and storylines drive the most clicks.
In the first two months of the new set-up, Mick’s dark storyline has proven most popular so far.

The controversial character escaped from prison in July, on a desperate mission to reunite with his family so they could go on the run together. His actions culminated in a showdown with Sally Metcalfe on the roof of Underworld, where she urged him to do the right thing for his young children.
Since being uploaded on the morning of 14 July, this episode has been viewed on YouTube 70,000 times – the most-watched full episode on there to date.
Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter’s wedding and Abi Webster’s affair with brother-in-law Carl have also been strong performers.

Speaking recently about the possibility of a return for Mick, Joe Layton – who played him – told Inside Soap’s Soap Scoop podcast: “Well, Mick’s still in prison and he’s going to be certainly for the foreseeable [future] because I’m on a new job until March. So he’s definitely not breaking out again anytime soon.

“I don’t know whether there’s a redemption arc in there for Mick. It’s funny, isn’t it? Because you and I, as regular people who walk the streets and are moral people, would say: ‘There’s no way back for this guy’.
“But then all you have to do is look back [at] the history of soaps. A few people have got away with some pretty bad stuff and come back. So, you know, never say never!
“I loved my time on Corrie and I’ve got the utmost respect for everyone involved there. So we’ll see. But I think it would be easier for some of the other Michaelises to have a redemption arc than it would Mick…”
