Coronation Street’s Todd to be left trapped with no money – in devastating scenes

Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw finds himself with no money to buy food next week, after Theo Silverton leaves Weatherfield without him. When Theo explains that he’s going to Doncaster for the day to visit his mum, poor Todd is left with only £10 in cash to get by.

But when Todd snaps at Sarah Platt after she reminds him that he owes her young son Harry some money, will she realise that something is terribly wrong?

“By now, Todd has cut up his bank cards to satisfy Theo,” our Corrie informant reminds us. “So he’s completely and utterly reliant on him. It’s sickening, and your heart will break watching Todd staring at the only bit of money he has left.

“Down the line, Sarah reminds Todd that he owes young Harry a tenner for finishing his sponsored walk, which triggers Todd to snap at her.

“We all know what’s really going on, but will Sarah push Todd on why money is such a sore subject?”

Soon after Theo leaves for Doncaster, Todd spends time with George Shuttleworth at the café. However, Todd’s outing ends in disaster when George realises that he’s forgotten his wallet and asks Todd to pay the bill for him.

Believing that he has no other option, Todd parts with his only tenner. Oblivious, George then invites his mate for a pint at The Rovers, but Todd is forced to turn him down.

“George has no idea that £10 is all Todd has until Theo gets back,” our spy continues. “It’s terrible to watch because you just know that George would do anything to protect Todd, if only he knew the truth.

“To make matters worse, Todd later receives a text message from Theo explaining that he is going to stay in Doncaster for the night rather than just the day. Poor Todd’s heart sinks.”

Later in the week, Summer Spellman discovers that Todd’s fridge is empty, so she offers to go out and do some food shopping. Todd accepts Summer’s kind suggestion, before secretly getting in touch with Theo to explain that he’s run out of money and can’t buy food.

While out on the Street, Todd bumps into Sarah, who uses the opportunity to bring up Harry’s sponsored walk.

When Todd snaps back, will Sarah finally realise that her best friend is going through something awful? Or will Todd continue to keep his torment to himself?
