Days of Our Lives Friday Recap: Jeremy Tries to Rescue Stephanie from Owen
Marlena offers comfort to Kayla in the hospital as she stares sadly at the police BOLO taped to the wall. Even Dr. Evans struggles to find words of comfort,
but she promises to stay with Kayla until Stephanie comes home. Marlena then tells Kayla that someone obsessed like Jeremy wouldn’t hurt Stephanie.
As a professional, she can assess violent tendencies and based on Jeremy’s family history and profile, he’s not capable of this! Um, Marlena… Violent tendencies
was literally his relationship with Stephanie last time.
Kayla points that out, so Marlena backtracks to say that this is based on all she’s seen and heard since Jeremy’s returned. That does not sit well with Kayla. But they apologize to each other and Marlena asks Kayla to get some rest. She’ll stay with her.
Alex Blames Himself
Alex and Brady put up more BOLO papers in the square. That plus the Titan reward for Stephanie should help! Alex just wishes he’d never pushed to publish that book in the first place. He blames himself, then fills Brady in on the plan, the elopement, all of it.
Alex starts to wonder at what Jeremy’s thinking because this doesn’t make sense (finally), then Brady notices a woman staring at one of the flyers, so they hurry over to talk to her.
Will Leo Ditch Dimitri?
Leo tosses and turns, then wakes with a start just as Dimitri sleepwalks (allegedly) into bed on top of him. Fed up and annoyed, Leo tries throwing him off, as Dimitri sleepily promises he’ll never let anyone hurt him. Finally, he forces Dimitri awake from a nightmare (Vivian was trying to steal Leo’s blood) with a little… pinch, then throws him to out of bed.
More: Alison Sweeney’s son turns 21!
But now Leo can’t sleep (thanks Dimitri), so he checks his phone and sees Stephanie’s been kidnapped. That sets off a panic to run back to Salem and report! He has to pack! Dimitri does his best to talk Leo down and convince him to stay and help. If Leo leaves, Dimitri’s stuck there — which might be what he wants! Gasp!
Can Jada and Steve Find a Lead?
JJ calls Jada to tell her that no one’s at the Horton cabin. You know, since Jeremy didn’t kidnap anyone. It’s time for her and Steve to broaden their search! The two sit down to sift through the tips — shouldn’t someone have been doing that the whole time?? — no matter how absurd they are.
They get to a tip from Susan (Since when does she send tips?) saying Stephanie’s “teeth are chattering.” And she tells them about her Halloween prediction. It’s tied to Stephanie’s mystery book, so Jada is about to set her cops on reading. Police work!
More: Carson Boatman has one last song
Luckily, Alex and Brady show up with news, so they abandon that. The eyewitness saw Jeremy after Stephanie was kidnapped and Alex points out that he wouldn’t have abandoned his captive. So Brady finally steps in and states the obvious: Maybe Jeremy is NOT the kidnapper! (Time for Brady to join Steve at Black Patch, because somehow HE is the only one with any sense.)
Stephanie struggles against her ties before breaking down in her tears, wondering why she’s so cold. Oh! Susan was right — teeth are chattering! Take that, snarky EJ. She thinks of her parents’ voices, and Alex’s from the wedding, then just ignores all the imaginary advice about staying calm and freaks out some more.
And hey, it works! She pulls her one hand free, undoes her gag and gets to work on the other hand — just as Jeremy enters the room. They stare at each other, then Jeremy rushes over, professing his innocence. He unties her, saying he’ll explain later how he found her, but she will not go with him.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Leo stops packing and admits even ditching Dimitri in Alamainia wouldn’t get him out of his thoughts. So he’ll stay, even though he’s terrified for his life. (OK, Ivan wasn’t that threatening, Leo.) He believes Dimitri’s innocent, so he’s sticking around.
Jeremy offers to call 911 as Stephanie freaks out and tries to run, but before he gets the chance Owen Kent walks in the door and stares them both down. How far will he go to keep her? Well, we know one person, at least, is ending up shot!
