EastEnders has confirmed heartbreak for Kim Fox next week, as she ends her engagement with her partner Howie Danes. But will she discover the true extent of his recent lies and theft?

This week’s episodes begin with a surprise proposal from the postman, after he is caught with an expensive ring that he stole while delivering parcels. When Patrick assumes the ring is for Kim, inspired Howie decides to pop the question during the Square’s Christmas lights switch-on.

Delighted Kim happily accepts and immediately starts planning an engagement party. But while most of the family are pleased for the couple, Anthony’s suspicions are raised and he confronts Howie with evidence of his theft.

Fortunately for Howie, the doctor isn’t the only one who has been doing some digging. He questions Anthony about his own shady behaviour and the pair reluctantly agree to keep each other’s secrets.

However, at the engagement party, Anthony has second thoughts. The event ends badly for the newly-betrothed couple, with their three-year relationship going up in smoke.

Speaking about Howie’s dodgy behaviour, actor Tameka Empson explained that Kim would be devastated by her fiancé’s lies more than anything else.

“It has taken her a long time to trust him and to build a life with their families coming together. It would be a real blow to her and she would question everything else that’s gone on. Kim will feel so let down because Howie is not the person that she thought he was,” she said of her character.

What exactly is revealed at the engagement party is still under wraps, but if Howie’s secrets are uncovered, will he in turn expose Anthony?

The following week, Kim laments over her broken engagement while drowning her sorrows in The Vic. While drunk, she offers to sell the car that Howie bought her for Yolande’s Christmas raffle.

Yolande gratefully accepts the generous offer. But later Kim is filled with regret as she realises what she has done. The Kimfluencer is known for being audacious, but will she risk upsetting Yolande by rescinding her offer?
