EastEnders has confirmed that there will be two bonus episodes this festive season, as the full episode schedule for over Christmas and New Year is revealed.

Huge storylines will come to a climax this Christmas, including the escalation of Zoe Slater’s mystery tormentor and a special episode focusing on Nigel Bates’s dementia that will air on Tuesday, 23 December.

The BBC has confirmed that, like last year, there will be two 30-minute episodes of EastEnders airing on Christmas Day. The first instalment will air at 7.45pm, then the drama in Albert Square will resume at 9.45pm following the Christmas specials of Call the Midwife and Amandaland.

It’ll be a dramatic Christmas in Walford, as a situation escalates for the Slaters and the Beale and Brannings team up for a festive dinner that will no doubt be fraught with tension.

In the aftermath of these explosive events, there will be an extra episode airing on Boxing Day – where the police arrive on the Square following an incident.

The drama continues for the Brannings in the final days of 2025, leading up to a groundbreaking New Year’s Day flashforward episode with Max at the centre of the sneak peek at 2027.
