EastEnders hostage outcome revealed – as Jack spots a fall guy

EastEnders has revealed the outcome of the dramatic hostage situation that unfolded in Walford, with Jack Branning grasping the opportunity to resolve his own dangerous situation.

There has been plenty of drama in East London over the past few weeks, with Zoe Slater being shot after she was caught in the crossfire of an argument between Jack and Ravi Gulati.

Furthermore, the returning Zoe has been on the run from the shady Greg, though she was eventually caught as she and Stacey Slater walked into The Vic to find the villain holding Kat Slater hostage.

Thursday’s (18 September) instalment began with Greg turning the tables as he grabbed Zoe. He soon asked for Kat to empty the tills of the pub, with things getting heated as he revealed that Zoe was searching for her long-lost son.

Just as the situation seemed to resolve itself, an unsuspecting Tommy Moon walked into the pub, and Greg became spooked by his presence. As the teenager escaped, Stacey attempted to calm the situation by sharing that there was a safe upstairs.

Jack, meanwhile, was grappling with his own involvement in the shooting, and explained to Denise Fox that he wanted to come clean, reasoning that telling the truth was the only thing that gave him “peace”.

Denise, however, urged her partner against such a move, explaining that he would be locked away for a long time for something that was “completely unintentional”. She subsequently asked if the truth was worth destroying their family.

Worried that he was going to hand himself in, Denise headed to Ravi in a bid to change Jack’s mind. As Ravi and Jack met up, they overheard the commotion in the pub, and resolved to thwart Greg.

Their help wasn’t needed in the end, with Kat knocking Greg unconscious with a cricket bat. After Zoe mistakenly said that Greg was the one who shot at her, Ravi and Jack spotted an opportunity to plant the gun and use the the villain as a fall guy.

Jack later relayed the news to Denise, explaining that Greg was going to prison either way. She said that they could finally move on from the matter, but will things be as simple as that?

Zoe and Kat also bonded following the traumatic ordeal, with Kat pledging to help her daughter in finding her long-lost child. Could the answer be closer to home than anybody realises?
