General Hospital Monday, February 23 Recap: Maxie Chooses Spinelli Over Nathan – Michael & Chase’s Bloody Brawl
General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, February 23, reveals that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) made a big decision regarding her love life.
Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) also had a fierce faceoff that got out of hand, so here’s how Monday’s GH drama went down.
In the cemetery, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) talked to Maxie about missing seven years of memories.
Maxie also opened up about her intense mourning and how it led to her trusting Peter August (Wes Ramsey) when she shouldn’t have.
Maxie then spoke about her reconnection with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), so Nathan understood that all this was complicated.
Nathan said there was no rush when it came to Maxie making a decision, but she didn’t want to drag this out since it’d be harder on the kids.
Maxie declared that she loved Nathan and always would while Spinelli was confiding in Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) back at the house.
Spinelli assumed Maxie would choose Nathan, but he was in for a big surprise when she came home later and picked Spinelli instead.
Although Maxie would always love Nathan, she was IN love with Spinelli and praised him for all the ways he showed up as a family man.
Spinelli didn’t want Maxie staying with him out of obligation, but she insisted she was choosing him and kissed him passionately.
Once Lulu made her way to the Brown Dog Bar, Nathan walked in and locked eyes with her.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) let Chase and Brook Lynn know that they’d have to start the adoption process over again.
Chase worried that his demotion would be a problem, but Alexis downplayed that idea.
At the PCPD, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) admitted Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) was the eyewitness who saw Chase handling Michael’s keys before the search warrant was drawn up.
ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) eventually let Michael go and fumed over it being Chase’s idea to check Michael’s keys.
Turner threw evidence tampering accusations around when it came to the traffic cam footage too, but Dante wanted to question Chase before they rushed to judgment.
Back at the Q manse, Michael accused Chase of planting Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) key and got into a major brawl with him.
Michael had a bloody mouth by the time Dante came along and broke up the fight.
After Michael ranted about Wiley seeing Chase with his keys, he privately assured Dante that he never had a key to Drew’s place.
Dante acknowledged that the evidence was now compromised and suggested Chase did Michael a huge favor since they couldn’t build a case.
However, Dante ultimately admitted he believed Michael was innocent.
Next, Wiley woke up from a nightmare and told Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) that he missed his bedroom at the Quartermaine residence.
Willow was certain Wiley would get used to living at her place again and offered to read to him until he fell asleep.
Wiley’s new favorite book surprised Willow, who also learned Michael was planning to take Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver) to Hawaii this summer.
Once Wiley drifted off to sleep, Willow recalled slipping Drew’s key on Michael’s key ring.
Back with Alexis, she spoke with Ric in her office and heard all the latest Chase developments.
Ric also talked to a skeptical Alexis about turning over a new leaf and assured her that he had no agenda.
At Brown Dog Bar, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) caught up with Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), who considered potentially following Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) to California if she moved back there.
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) joined Gio alone and showed him Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) old book with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on the cover, but Gio didn’t want to bother Emma with anything else.
Josslyn dropped the topic and gave Gio a nudge to go visit Emma as a surprise.
Back with Sonny, he bumped into Justine and listened to her rant about botched cases.
Sonny didn’t blame Justine for how things went down at Willow’s trial, so she was taken aback over how understanding he was being.
Justine stomped off after venting about being a failure, but she secretly smirked when Sonny followed her outside like it was her plan all along.
Sonny admitted it wasn’t sympathy he was feeling for Justine and pulled her into a make-out session.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and Justine will keep making manipulative moves, so stay tuned.
