HOT NEWS!! Coronation Street’s Todd to face huge Christmas dilemma in dark Theo story

Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw is set to face a huge Christmas dilemma as his ongoing dark storyline with Theo Silverton continues. In recent months, Theo has been abusing his partner Todd as the soap explores coercive control and domestic violence within their relationship.

Viewers know that things recently turned physical after Theo attacked Todd. While some of the residents have realised that something isn’t quite right, Theo has framed Todd as the aggressor.

On Christmas Day, things will escalate between Todd and Theo as Theo’s rage gets the better of him and he loses his temper again after becoming jealous when Summer gifts Todd a ticket to an Andrew Scott retrospective.

Following a Christmas lunch with George, Christina, Glenda and Summer, Theo seethes and his temper worsens before he smashes a glass of wine on the floor in front of the group.

In scenes set to air on Boxing Day, controlling Theo tells Todd he’s treating him to a minibreak following a tense Christmas Day.

Todd is delighted until he realises that Theo’s plan clashes with the event that Summer has booked him as a present.

Under Theo’s steely glare, what will Todd decide to do?

“There’s no denying that this must be deliberate on Theo’s part,” our Corrie source shares. “Since the disturbing incident at the flat, Todd’s loved ones have been keeping a closer eye on him and want to spend more time together.

“This goes against everything that Theo has been working towards in recent months. He still wants Todd totally isolated, so the convenient gift is seemingly the place to start…”

Speaking recently to Digital Spy about Corriedale, the upcoming special crossover episode between Corrie and Emmerdale, Theo actor James Cartwright teased some more dark scenes between the couple.

He said: “He’s a monster. Nobody thinks they’re a bad person and he does set out with the best of intentions, but I think his narcissism and verging on sociopathy is out of control.

“As things move along, he gets worse and worse and worse. Now he’s completely unredeemable. But he thinks he loves [Todd] and it’s that delusion that comes from loving someone too much. Sometimes I get the scripts and I go: ‘Blimey O’Reilly!'”
