Emmerdale actor James Moore, best known to fans as Ryan Stocks, has shared his pride after completing a monumental challenge in memory of his late father. The actor took on an emotional test of endurance at 270 Climbing Park in Gloucestershire, scaling the equivalent height of Ben Nevis — the UK’s tallest mountain — to raise money for Myeloma UK.

Climbing for a Cause

On October 25, James was joined by family and friends at the world-class climbing centre near Cheltenham and Gloucester. Together, the group repeatedly climbed the park’s 17-metre wall until they reached a combined height of 1,345 metres — the same as scaling Ben Nevis.

The one-day challenge was more than just a test of stamina. It was a heartfelt tribute to James’s father, Stephen Moore, who sadly passed away in June after a long battle with myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer.

To date, the climb has raised over £2,300 for Myeloma UK, which supports patients and families while funding vital research into new treatments.

“I Think My Dad Would Be Proud”

Speaking after completing the challenge, James reflected on the experience with gratitude and emotion.

“I am honoured to have raised over £2,000 for Myeloma UK in tribute to my dad, Stephen Moore, who passed away in June after a long battle with this illness,” he said.

“I’d like to thank everyone who donated, 270 Climbing for letting us use their facilities, and my friends and family for rallying behind me. I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished together — and I think my dad would be too.”
