HOTTEST NEWS TODAY!!! Beloved EastEnders couple split in early BBC iPlayer release with divorce confirmed
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer.
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has called time on his marriage to Callum Highway (Tony Clay), after learning of his infidelity.
Callum, as viewers know, has been engaging in an affair with Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) for quite some time.
The pair hooked up after sharing a surprise kiss during the Pride event in June, which effectively ended Johnny’s relationship with Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison).
Callum was wracked with guilt, given his marriage to Ben, who has been serving a six-year prison sentence for fraud in the US.
While that didn’t stop Callum going back for more, their secret affair was soon uncovered by Ben’s furious father Phil (Steve McFadden), who violently attacked Johnny.
Despite that, the two realised that they couldn’t keep their hands off one another and should continue the affair out of public view.

Of course, this didn’t happen. In yesterday’s instalment, Ben’s mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) caught them sharing a kiss, and Callum was forced to come clean.
The family kicked off, forcing Callum to make a huge decision. He resolved to tell Ben after his dad Jonno’s funeral, unaware that his estranged husband was actually en route to the burial.
An awkward face-to-face reunion was brewing!
Ben stages his eventful return
Stood at the graveside in today’s instalment, Callum was blindsided by Ben’s sudden reappearance and felt compelled to lock lips with his hubby despite Johnny being stood just metres away.
Ben explained that he had been transferred to a prison in Manchester, having been rewarded for giving officers in the US some intel on one of his cellmates.

Callum was lost for words, knowing that it would only be a matter of time before his big secret was exposed. It wasn’t going to be an easy conversation.
A blissfully unaware Ben thanked Johnny for looking after Callum, and the group then made their way to The Queen Vic for the wake.
Johnny attempted to make a quick escape, but Callum wanted him to be there. Talk about awkward.
Ben made a huge scene, announcing to everyone in The Vic that he was back on home turf, before sitting down for a conversation with a nervy Callum.
Callum comes clean
Knowing that he couldn’t waste anymore time in delaying the inevitable – and with the Mitchell and Beale clans watching him like a hawk – Callum told Ben that there was another man in his life.
Understandably, Ben wanted to know who it was.

Luckily for Callum, he didn’t have to do any talking. By looking in Johnny’s direction, his bit on the side was confirmed.
Ben jumped out of his seat and went to throw a punch, with Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) quickly getting between the two men.
Meanwhile, everyone else stayed quiet. This was further confirmation to Ben that he was the only one kept in the dark over the affair.
Ben makes a decision
After calming down, all that Ben wanted to know was whether Callum loved Johnny.
That would be confirmation to him that their relationship was dead in the water, and unfortunately, Callum said yes.
Ben leapt up once again, and before storming out, he announced that he wanted a divorce.
Ballum fans, do not despair. Although Callum seems to be completely over Ben, the final scene of the episode confirmed that perhaps Ben’s decision was said in the heat of the moment.
Sobbing into his pillow, having looked at a picture of them both together, it was clear that there’s still a lot of love there.
Is there still chance for a reunion?
