Coronation Street fans think that they have discovered the true identity of newcomer Vincent Harper following the explosive events of Corriedale. After Shona and David Platt were caught up in a large car crash, Shona experienced contractions and was rushed to the hospital, leading to her delivering her baby sooner than expected.

The couple were informed that a tumour was growing on their unborn child’s neck following a routine scan, and that Shona and the baby would have to undergo a risky surgical procedure to remove it.

Yesterday’s episode, which focused solely on Shona and David, saw them preparing for surgery, during which she gave birth to their daughter.

They were distressed to learn that the surgeon due to undertake the operation would not be present, but a replacement, Vincent, was assigned to carry out the procedure.

The mysterious newcomer made a visit to Roy’s Rolls ahead of the surgery, upsetting Bernie Winter by making a reference to Billy Mayhew, who died during the catastrophic crash.

Because of his prominence in the episode, and speaking about Billy, fans think that he is set to play a huge role in an ongoing storyline.

Another user replied: “He was more than just a passing surgeon. He knew about Billy being gay, which wasn’t in the paper.”
