Emmerdale reveals Paddy Dingle’s next steps tonight following his impulsive decision to conceal the truth over Ray Walters’ murder. As he desperately tries to keep his tormented father Bear Wolf out of trouble, can Paddy take control over the situation?

Paddy has unexpectedly taken centre stage in the soap’s biggest storyline, as last week’s episodes revealed how he witnessed Ray’s grisly death. After Bear used brutal tactics when he stepped in to save Paddy and Dylan Penders from violent Ray, a sly cover-up began as Paddy and Dylan agreed on a pact of silence.

In Monday’s episode, we discover Paddy’s plans in more detail now that we’re back in the present day following last week’s flashback specials.

Paddy pays a secret visit to the cottage where he and Dylan are keeping Bear hidden for his own safety. But with police closely scrutinising the villagers, it’s a major risk…

As the co-conspirators catch up, it’s revealed that Dylan has been coaching Bear on his cover story for when he’ll inevitably need to speak to the police. Dylan is acting on Paddy’s instructions, but reasoning with Bear isn’t easy as he’s in a fragile mental state.

Paddy and Dylan want Bear to tell the police that he was nowhere near the village when Ray was killed.

They encourage him to let everyone believe that he was transported to Hull with other forced workers, once Ray and Celia Daniels decided to shut down their illegal operation on the farm.

Poor Bear is struggling under the pressure of having to lie – and it’s not looking hopeful that Paddy and Dylan will ever pull this off. As the day continues, will things get even worse?

Emmerdale bosses are promising a gripping few weeks for the soap as the show deals with the fallout from Ray’s murder and Graham Foster’s return.
