Is #YR’s Cane *playing* Phyllis?! š§ An Illusion of Power: Young & Restlessā Phyllis May Have Borrowed *Massively* Big Trouble When She Stole Caneās AI
If youāve been thinking that Phyllis stealing Caneās AI program has all been tooā¦Ā easy, well, youāre not alone. TheĀ Young & RestlessĀ pot-stirrerĀ appearsĀ to be sitting in the catbird seat, but if our hunch is correct, all isĀ notĀ what it seemsā¦Weāre sure if Caneās tech team is sophisticated enough to create an AI program that can takeover any company on earth, theyād be competent enough to build in protections against it being stolen by a single, albeit top-notch, hacker from Genoa City, Wisconsin. But thatās not the only thing making us suspicious. Caneās just a little too cool, calm and collected about the breach.
Sure, Ashby is making all the right noises about his AI being stolen, but given the chaos it could unleash, and the fact that it could very well be used to dismantle hisĀ ownĀ empire, thereās a decided lack of panic. Which makes us think thereās more to the story of Phyllis being able to undermine him so handily.
Perhaps Cane saw this coming andĀ allowedĀ Phyllis to take the programā¦ either as a test of loyalty or as a means of keeping his hands clean while she did his dirty work? Of course, that wouldnāt be without risk to Arabesque, so itās possible that what Phyllis has in her possession isnāt actually the AI program at allā¦ or itās an altered version of it.
Ashbyās flirtatious sparring with Phyllis, suggests heās playing her. Itās not inconcievable that he foresaw the redhead making this move and selling out to the highest bidder. He may be ten steps ahead ofĀ allĀ of them (heĀ is, after all, being touted as a young Victor Newman).
Caneās warning to Jack may have been tactical, in order to set up a showdown between him and Victor. Phyllis may, in fact, be about to hand over a program designed to infiltrate the company of the titan who proves most determined to destroy their rival. Similarly, Ashby may be using Phyllis to hand over a program to Victor that will attack Newman Enterprises when he sets it to deploy against Jabot.
Thereās aĀ myriadĀ of ways that Ashby could be manipulating Red and/or Victor and Jack as wellā¦ and they all spell big t-r-o-u-b-l-e for Phyllis.
If Phyllis hasĀ actuallyĀ stolen the real AI program out from under Caneās nose, he comes over as incompetent and weak, which isĀ notĀ what the writers were selling when they re-introduced him. ThereĀ hasĀ to be a twist hereā¦Ā right?!
