It’s official! Meet Monica’s sister on #GH! Erika Slezak is playing exactly who we suspected… Or is she? Find out what we know here: Monica’s Sister Has Finally Arrived On General Hospital — or Has She?

And here we go! According to Monday’s General Hospital episode, Erika Slezak is officially Monica’s sister, Veronica “Ronnie” Bard. Though Monica married into the Quartermaine family and was raised by her foster parents, Greg and Gail Adamson, she was born Monica Bard.

And while the show’s played around with Quartermaines popping up from time to time and foster mom Gail marrying Scotty’s dad, Lee, the Bard family has remained a pretty stubborn mystery. We’ve never heard of any siblings or cousins or, well, anyone from Monica’s biological family. And that’s what makes this latest surprise so plausible. There’s so much room for the show to weave whatever backstory they want into the Bard family.

But it’s also what makes it so questionable. Because why would a sister wait until Monica’s death to come forward? We found out on Monday’s episode that Monica (and Tracy), it turns out, both knew about Ronnie for decades, but the sisters only recently connected. (According to Ronnie.) And it seems awfully suspicious that she’d only wait to pop up once Monica was dead and gone. She claims that Monica reached out to her, assuming big sis was full of regrets. But that’s easy enough to say without it being true.

And Tracy’s not buying it! Monica’s sister could, of course, be on the up-and-up, but something tells us there’s more than meets the eye going on.  Was she hired by Drew to claw out a part of her inheritance that he figured he’d be denied? Or maybe Martin brought her to town to stick it to Tracy? Judging from this week’s preview, it seems like Ronnie knows something that we don’t at the will reading. And spoilers make clear that it’s going to be dramatic!

What if Martin found an actual letter from Monica’s sister (you know, the one that Drew’s kids drew on) and got an idea to hire someone to impersonate her, claim Monica’s inheritance and torment Tracy? (While also making some money for himself in the process, of course.) Then again, there’s always the possibility that Ronnie is pulling a con all on her own, having learned of Monica’s ailing health and deciding to contact her, win her trust as a “sister,” then wait until the, sadly, inevitable to cash in.
