Lydia plays with fire in Emmerdale as she betrays Kim in a dangerous way
Bullets. Betrayal. Jason Donovan. It’s all kicking off in the Dales…
Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) delightfully mismatched friendship with Lady of the Manor Kim Tate (Claire King) is put to the ultimate test when she decides to help her hubby Sam (James Hooton) make some quick cash with a dodgy shoot on Home Farm… behind her best mate’s back, of course.
It’s not easy working for resident Dales bad boy Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Sam finally grows weary of his smug boss’s shenanigans, tells him where to go and quits as gamekeeper in an angry gesture of defiance. Or at least it would be.
If they hadn’t got a stack of bills to pay at Wishing Well Cottage. But they have, so Lydia persuades Sam to beg Joe for his job back. Joe refuses, until Kim twists his arm.
But the damage is done. Between Joe treating Sam like a skivvy and Kim’s seriously stingy donation to the raffle, Lydia’s starting to have second thoughts about their friendship…

So when Sam plans a dodgy shoot for cash on Home Farm, Lydia’s only too happy to keep Kim from scuppering their plans by distracting her at the Christmas Fayre. What could possibly go wrong?
At the shoot, Lydia’s spinning plates trying to juggle the shooting party’s demand for food, whilst Kim demands her presence at the Fayre. Whilst Sam worries Vanessa has (Michelle Hardwick) has seen the shoot, Kim orders Lydia to the pub. Is Lydia about to be rumbled?
To Lydia’s surprise, she arrives at the Woolpack to find her dreams come true… and Any Dream Will Do as she finds none other than Jason Donovan, performing a live concert!

Sam clashes with Joe
While a delighted Kim is hoping this concert is Sealed With A Kiss (ask your parents)…
Meanwhile, Vanessa’s reported the disturbance at Home Farm to Kim, who charges over to investigate…only to be found later, grievously injured and unable to move her leg.
She lies in the woods, utterly helpless.
Will anyone come to Kim’s rescue? Lydia? Sam?
Jason Donovan?
