Last week in Coronation Street, Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances-Brown) sat down and decided to open up to Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) about her past.

We were introduced to Jodie at the start of this month, when we saw her in the back of a van that was being driven by Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).

Jodie was tied up, but managed to escape the van as a result of the Corriedale crash taking place. It was a couple of days later that we received confirmation she is Shona’s sister.

Since then, a curious Shona has wondered what her sibling was doing before they laid eyes on each other in the hospital. Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has told her that he found Jodie in the woods after being tied up somewhere, but he doesn’t know much else.

While Shona was trying to dig for information from Kit, she failed to realise Jodie was watching her. She then headed to a support group at the community centre, and listened as a brave woman called Ellie described the abuse she suffered at the hands of her partner.

That evening, Shona found Jodie in a bad way at home. She encouraged her to open up, and Jodie proceeded to tell her about an abusive relationship she was in.

Shona had no idea in that moment that Jodie was just telling Ellie’s story from earlier and pretending that it was her own. Feeling sad for her sister, Shona has wondered if she may get more answers about Jodie’s past if she visits her dad.

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has told Shona that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea. The couple are regularly visiting baby Harper in hospital, and also deal with the standard everyday drama that comes with being part of the Platt family.

David thinks they’ve got enough on their plates – but Shona is a woman who cannot have her mind changed once she’s decided on something.

As a result of Shona and Jodie’s dad being mentioned, fans of Corrie cannot help but wonder if Graham’s connection to Jodie will end up being that he’s the father of her and Shona.

Taking to social media platform X, Carole wondered recently: ‘I wonder if Jodie is Graham Foster’s daughter? Shona said that they’re half sisters so perhaps he’s her Dad #Corrie #Emmerdale’.

Also speculating this theory, this audience member from Corrie said: ‘Here’s a thought. I’m just catching up on tonight’s #emmerdale and I’m wondering if graham from emmerdale is the father of shona & jodie from corrie!’.

The Tate Dynasty on X also added to the speculation, but expressed they’d rather not have this theory come true.

‘Please don’t make Graham in Emmerdale Jodie and Shona’s Dad in Corrie! #Corrie’.

‘We’ll find out exactly why she [Jodie] was in that van, we’ll find out what her link to Graham is’, producer of the show Kate Brooks explained.

‘Graham was a character with a murky past who was capable of many things. For Jodie to be embroiled with somebody of that ilk kind of sheds a light on what kind of character she is and what kind of character to expect. We’ll reveal what went on between them and how Jodie ended up running for her life through a wooded area, and what Graham’s role was in it all.’

Meanwhile she told us to ‘keep an eye’ on Jodie.

‘All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her. There’s lots of secrets to explode and she’s going to bring an awful lot of drama to the Platt household.’
