Emmerdale airs an unexpected heart-to-heart tonight as Moira Dingle summons Kim Tate to visit her in prison. With the future of the farm at stake, Moira shares a surprising decision.

Elsewhere, the rest of the Dingles rally round as Cain continues to share the news of his diagnosis.

1. Joe’s games start to backfire

Joe is gleeful as he tells Kim and Graham that Cain seems defeated. With Joe threatening to have Cain charged with theft if Moira doesn’t sell the farm, he’s confident that the Butler’s Farm handover is nearly a done deal.

Kim is far from impressed, though, and reminds Joe that she’d ordered him to leave the Dingles alone. To make matters worse, Lydia overhears the conversation and uncharacteristically bites back.

2. Cain tells his family the truth

Following Moira’s recent encouragement, Cain gathers several of his family members at the Dingle homestead for an important announcement.

With Sarah there to support him, Cain informs Chas, Sam, Caleb and Belle of his prostate cancer diagnosis and how serious the situation is.

3. Moira makes a heartbreaking decision

Moira sends a visiting order to Kim, who’s intrigued enough to come and see her at the prison.

Kim is gobsmacked as Moira reveals that she’s finally ready to sell her share of the farm. Moira wants to ease the pressure on Cain so he can concentrate on getting better, and she’s prepared to sacrifice Butler’s.

But with Kim suspicious over Moira’s change of heart, will the jailed farmer have to share her husband’s diagnosis? And how would Cain feel about Moira making this decision without consulting him?

4. The rest of the Dingles discover the truth

As Cain doesn’t want to repeat the conversation multiple times, he asks his family to let the rest of the clan know – including Aaron, Charity, Lydia and Marlon.

In a heartbreaking scene, Cain also tells his young sons Kyle and Isaac what’s going on.

5. Sarah and Jacob make amends

With the truth finally out about Cain, there’s closure for Sarah and Jacob following their recent rows.

As Jacob finally understands Sarah’s car-stealing antics and her secrecy surrounding Cain, the young couple swiftly resolve their differences.
