Emmerdale has aired a disturbing cliffhanger for April Windsor after she took a shady job from Ray Walters to repay her debt. The teen has been involved in some dodgy dealings with her boyfriend Dylan Penders so they could repay their debt to Celia Daniels.

The criminal mastermind is working with her adoptive son, Ray Walters, with the duo having an ominous plan for April.

Ahead of April’s harrowing special episode airing tomorrow, tonight’s hour-long Emmerdale episode saw Celia and Ray discussing how they were expecting “a lot more” from the young woman.

To set off their plan in motion, Ray asked Dylan to deliver a package while on Hull for his new job.

Later on, he also ambushed April with tickets for a “job” in Liverpool.

“Celia is not someone you wanna mess around,” Ray reminded April, saying she needed to do her part to repay the debt.

After moving out, April stopped at Marlon and Rhona’s to get her stash, but her plan was halted when Rhona returned home. The veterinarian encouraged April to open up as she was worried about her, but the teen kept quiet about her predicament.

Later on, Ray informed April he’d sent someone else to Liverpool. He made it sound like April needed to beg him for a job so she could repay Celia.

After some fake hesitancies, he finally shared that he had a big client in Hotten who asked for a delivery at his hotel.

In the final scenes, Ray and Celia talked about April’s role in their operation.

“She’s paying a visit to your friend, and mine,” Ray told Celia. “She will do whatever it takes. They both will. They’re absolutely desperate to pay off that debt.”

“Good luck with that,” Celia snickered.

This disquieting development set up for April’s special, which will see the teen’s present and Dawn Fletcher’s past becoming intertwined in an episode full of “tension, danger, and emotional depth”.

“In this special episode, April finds herself entangled in a perilous situation as she attempts to pay off mounting debts,” the episode’s synopsis teased.
