SHOCKING NEWS!! Emmerdale star addresses missing characters in Nicola’s big story
Emmerdale star Nicola Wheeler has responded to one of the soap’s more recent mysteries as two characters have disappeared from the main storylines.
Appearing on This Morning on Wednesday, Wheeler looked back on her Emmerdale stint as Nicola King, who is now at the centre of a big story with her adopted son, Carl Holliday.
Sharing her love for her co-stars, Wheeler mentioned how the children her character and Jimmy King share, Angelica and Elliot, haven’t been around for a while.

“The kids, of course,” she said. “You don’t see the kids. Is it Tracy Barlow who just went upstairs for 17 years?”
“You can’t see them. Apart from, obviously, Charlie [Joyce], who plays Carl,” she added.

While Wheeler said that being on set and finding a “certain rhythm” with certain co-stars is “really good fun”, the storylines they play aren’t always lighthearted.
Emmerdale has just kicked off a storyline involving the Kings and the Tates in a new feud when Carl is accused of having shared an indecent image of Clemmie Reed, Dawn Fletcher’s daughter.
Interviewed by the police, Carl admitted sharing the image, while Clemmie is left grappling with the shame surrounding his crime.
“He’s very good,” Wheeler said of Carl star Charlie Joyce.
“When I was talking with the producer about this storyline I had no idea that a child sending those kind of images was actually committing a crime,” she added.
Weighing in on her character’s reaction to the police investigation surrounding the incident, Wheeler said that Nicola is initially in denial.

“Eventually, she does have to admit that what [Carl] did was horrendous and totally unfair to Clemmie. A total breach of her privacy,” she explained.
As for why Nicola is upset that the school was informed about Carl’s actions before her, Wheeler teased that the person who tipped off the school is revealed in a twist.
“It turns out to be somebody you don’t expect,” she said.
