The truth is out: Charity’s dark fear in Emmerdale as she is hit with another unwelcome baby surprise
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is trying to manage her stress levels during her pregnancy in Emmerdale, but it’s proving tough given that she’s desperately trying to hide the fact the baby she’s carrying might not be Sarah’s (Katie Hill).
And those stress levels won’t be waning any time soon thanks to Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) latest actions.
Ross Barton (Michael Parr) has been all over Charity since learning the baby might be his. He’s practically stalked her everywhere she’s gone, demanding proof that it isn’t in fact his.
He even accosted her in her own home and made thinly veiled jibes in front of husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Overhearing her talk to Vanessa was a clincher for him as he turned the screws and demanded absolute proof that the baby isn’t his – a DNA test.
This floored Charity, who is secretly pretty damn sure Ross is the sperm provider, so she was in a pickle as to how to cater to this demand.

She’s also dealing with the fact her husband seemingly dumped her by text and did a flit – little does she know he’s wherever John left him after meeting a grisly fate with John’s bow and arrow. At least he’s not around to see Charity squirm.
Things are only set to get worse for her as her pregnancy progresses and Jacob’s excitement gets the better of him.
Eager to see their little one as soon as possible, Jacob plumps for an early scan to surprise Sarah, leaving Charity in need of a change of undies. What’s pure excitement for the two young loves is pure fear for the surrogate.
Actress Emma Atkins admits to Metro: ‘Charity is digging a hole that is so big now that that there’s no going back, and she’s determined to just keep the lie up; keep it up and assume that she’s none-the-wiser and that it is in fact Sarah’s baby.

‘She’s decided to jump in at the deep end and keep putting on the brave face. She can’t bear the idea of Sarah ever, ever finding out.’
But the choice might not be in Charity’s hands.
As they head into the ultrasound, Sarah and Jacob coo over the image on the screen while Charity squirms.
Ross arrives with Moses in tow just to add to the awkwardness, and Sarah excitedly shows Ross the photo.
This is an uncomfortable moment as Ross finds himself staring at a photo that could be of his own child. Will he be able to keep his mouth shut?
