CORONATION Street fans have spotted a clue proving that Ben Driscoll is secretly connected to a major character on the cobbles.

The ITV soap aired a special flashback episode earlier this week that showed his mother Maggie killing his father – after he discovered she had had an affair around the time she fell pregnant.

 

And there’s been a hint hiding in plain sight about who his biological father could be.

Actress Pauline McLynn has been playing Eva Price’s new mother-in-law from hell since last month.

The 63-year-old actress, who played housekeeper Mrs Doyle in the ’90s comedy series, is set to shock viewers of the ITV soap.

Maggie only arrived on the cobbles last month as part of a new family to run the Rovers Return pub.

It includes son Ben, played by Aaron McCusker, and her daughter-in-law and new landlady Eva Price, played by a returning Cath Tyldesley.

In a scene shortly after joining, Maggie, 65, found herself visibly horrified by something she spotted in Ken Barlow’s cupboard.

One fan said: “Got to be something to do with what she saw in that draw in Ken Barlow house.”

Another added: “It’s got to be, in some way, connected to the Barlow’s after that initial reaction?”
