Why is Coronation Street not on tonight and when will it return?
Fans tuning in to ITV tonight may be surprised to find Coronation Street missing from the schedule — especially after Monday’s dramatic return of fan favourite Eva Price. But don’t worry, the break is only temporary.
ITV has made a scheduling change for Wednesday, October 29, replacing Coronation Street’s usual evening slot with live coverage of the Carabao Cup: Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur.
That means there will be no new episode of Corrie tonight, as football takes over the prime-time slot.

When Will Coronation Street Be Back?
Viewers won’t have to wait long for their next trip to Weatherfield. Coronation Street will return tomorrow night (Thursday, October 30) at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
The Thursday installment will pick up after the chaos of Eva Price’s long-awaited comeback — and fans can expect even more drama as her feud with Maria Connor reignites.
What’s Happening in Weatherfield
In Monday’s episode, Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) made her surprise return to the cobbles after seven years away, arriving with husband Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and their daughter Susie. But the celebration at the Rovers Return was quickly disrupted by a shock arrival — Ben’s formidable mother, Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn).
Catherine Tyldesley recently praised her new co-star, calling McLynn “hilariously funny” and predicting that “Corrie fans are going to adore her.”
As for what’s next, Tyldesley teased that Eva and Maria’s rekindled rivalry will offer plenty of fireworks: “She had an affair with Aidan, and Eva loves a grudge. It’s kind of like the new Eileen and Gail scenario — great fun, great telly.”
