Young & Restless has dished out some doozies in its time, but what happened on Monday’s episode threw fans for a loop, leaving them not only in a state of disbelief, but calling for heads to roll!
It was no surprise that Mariah was released on bail in Sharon’s care, despite being mentally ill enough to plot and execute the kidnapping of a child. It didn’t even faze us when the redhead suddenly seemed sane again. Heck, we didn’t even blink an eye when Christine magically appeared to take Mariah’s case, given she’s one of Genoa City’s only two lawyers… but what happened next was totally unexpected.
Folks, Sharon bringing Mariah to Abby’s home was so shocking that it inspired an entire outraged thread in SOAPS message boards.
At best, it was a stunning lapse of judgement on Sharon’s part. For her to foist her daughter on her victims was a mind-boggling choice. Forcing Abby and Devon to face her unexpectedly was alarming enough, but what if Dom had come down the stairs and been traumatized all over again? It’s all the more outrageous given that Sharon is a therapist, which is why the massive blunder left some viewers calling for her head to roll. NJ_Soap_Lady declared, “Sharon should lose her license for her actions today.”
Indeed, it begs the question of why Mariah, who is wearing an ankle monitor, was even allowed to be out cruising the streets with her mother. The justice department, as per usual, is a joke in Genoa City!
If you want to get nit-picky about “unbelievable” things, one could also question why Devon hasn’t changed moods throughout this entire kidnapping crisis, including when Mariah showed up at his front door and agitated his wife after the fact. Could we get a little realism?
